Club History
Putney were founded in 1870. In the centenary year a commemorative handbook was produced. Some extract are repeated here. In the beginning describes how the club has progressed since.

After the Second World War it took some time for things to return to how it was in the thirties. In 1946 Gordon Pilgrim describes the problems that had to be overcome.

Jim Laker played several games for the club after his first class career came to an end. His story describes the transition he had to endure.

Some famous opponents appeared against Putney in the name of charity. Chelsea FC and the celebrities of the Sargent Men followed in the footsteps of our local football club, Fulham, the a first division side including several internationals.

The club records are listed, giving every player something to aim at.
