Tournament rules
- 6 players per side
- 5 overs a game
- £10 per player
- Batsmen retire (and return later if necessary) when they reach 30
- Apart from the skippers the teams will be drawn at random.
- There must be a designated wicket keeper and 5 bowlers per side each bowling an over each.
- Each team will be asked to provide umpires and scorers and man the scoreboard for one of the games in another group.
- Wides. All leg side balls are wides. Wides count 3 runs and no extra ball until the last over where it is 3 runs and an extra ball.
- No balls. Are as normal.
- Run up - limited to 12 yards
- Batsmen are only allowed to open the innings once each throughout the tournament.
- "Not out" batsman to carry on until the end of the overs or until he is out
- Abuse should be obligatory
- Standard rules of cricket apply thereafter.
Tournament Structure
Two league pools of 3 teams.
Pool A: Ridders' Bitters, Telfer's Silver Foxes, Smokey's Bandits
Pool B: Wibbers' Zulus, Brooksie's Broken Fingers, Gilbert's Mankinis
- 2 points for a win, one point for a draw/tie (the definition of which is where the runs scored are level).
- Following the group stages there will then be a playoff between the 3rd placed team, 2nd placed teams and a final between the top teams in each group.
- In the event of two teams finishing on level points, run rate will be taken into account, then total runs scored, followed by total wickets taken and finally the toss of a coin.
- Every player is guaranteed three games
- Each team will be asked to provide umpires and a scorer for one of the games in another group.
