Hey Guys,
Happy February im sure everyone is glad to see that January is out the way!
As some of you may know In less then 80 days time im going to be running the Virgin London Marathon for Asthma UK.
The charity is a brilliant cause that aims to provide support and help for the millions of people in the UK living with Asthma day in and day out. The charity also funds research into the disease to help and try and find a cure. I myself have asthma and especially around this time of year i regularly have chest infections and problems with my breathing, luckily for me this is a mild form of Asthma and unlike some people I am able to control it using my inhalers.
Training so far over the winter has gone well and since the New Year it has been in full force with me running between 30-40 miles a week. With the bad weather, work, exams and having time to myself its not been the easiest thing to fit in, but im loving every minute and seeing an improvement every time I run.
My target is to raise £1,600.00 for my charity and before the marathon I am planning a few activities and I also have a just giving page. As part of my fundraising i have set up a twitter account and been recording a video blog which I have used for people to follow to see how i get on. My channel on you tube has had over 400 views and its been great to have messages of support from people and great to raise a little bit more awareness.
If anyone could help sponsor me i would be extremely grateful and appreciative, your donations would make a big difference to the charity!!!
Details and links on everything are below.
Thank you very much for reading this,
Kind regards,
Sam

Fast-bowling Training
Chaps,
I was wondering if any bowlers are interested in getting some Putney CC pre-season training with fast-bowling expert coach Ian Pont?
See the email below for prices - it looks like around £49 per head for a 3 hour coaching session.
Ian is an expert in fast bowling techniques, biomechanics and also has a speed gun to clock your performance with.
It would be great for any seamers who fancy learning a new delivery, improving their technique and getting tips before the season gets underway.
Needless to say - this is a course for seam bowlers only.
We need at least 6 people - but more welcome. Would be great to get a group together!
Anyone interested? Email me on maxtaylor24@hotmail.com
Cheers,
Max

New baby Ashworth
I am very pleased to inform you that Putney Cricket Club has a new member.
Sue and Trev have birth to a new baby girl this morning at 4.47am - 7lbs 9
Mother and baby are doing well. Status of The Blacksmith unknown. Probably doing a speech and handing out some of the roughest whisky known to man.
On behalf of the club, I would like to extend our congratulations to the
Ashworth family and its newest member.
